Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has publicly addressed the controversies surrounding her involvement in seeking justice for the late singer Mohbad.
In a statement released on Instagram, she clarified that she never accused anyone of being responsible for the singer’s death.
Iyabo Ojo revealed she was recently invited by the National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja over a past live video where she urged certain individuals to assist in the police investigation into Mohbad’s sudden death.
She stated that the video was part of her broader advocacy efforts through her NGO, Pinkies Foundation, which had written to various government officials requesting an independent investigation and a coroner’s inquest.
She emphasized that she never interfered with police work or pointed fingers at anyone but only used her platform to call for justice based on circulating videos at the time.
Iyabo Ojo also disclosed that her activism has come at a personal cost, including threats to her life, destruction of her office, and public attacks. Despite this, she remains committed to supporting investigations and standing for justice, adding that she is ready to honor any further police invitations.
Ojo thanked the public and authorities for their support and called for understanding as she tends to her well-being following recent traumatic events.
