In a coordinated military operation, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Nigerian Army launched a successful joint offensive against armed bandits in Makuku forest, located in Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The raid, which took place on Thursday, resulted in the elimination of dozens of suspected bandits. Several kidnap victims were rescued, and rustled cattle were recovered during the operation.
According to security analyst Bakatsine, who shared details of the event via X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, the mission was executed deep inside the forest — targeting a notorious bandit hideout.
He described the joint air and ground strike as a decisive blow against criminal elements operating in the area.
“Yesterday, Nigerian Air Force and Army struck bandits in Makuku forest, Sakaba LGA, Kebbi State. Dozens were neutralised, kidnapped victims rescued, and stolen cattle recovered. May our troops continue to succeed,” — Bakatsine posted.
The success of this operation adds to ongoing efforts by security forces to tackle insecurity and restore peace across affected regions in northern Nigeria.
